The photos published show Travolta in a blonde wig pulled back into a ponytail, wearing pink lipstick and eye liner. He also has on a dress, necklace and earrings. The National Enquirer has said the photos were taken from a party in Los Angeles (and not a movie) in 1997 -- six years after marrying wife Kelly Preston. The pictures have surfaced amid reports by the magazine that his wife of over 20 years has walked out on the 'Pulp Fiction' actor due to the cross-dressing photos.
Travolta has previously cross-dressed onscreen, playing the role of Edna Turnblad in the hit 2007 musical film 'Hairspray'.While his role as Turnblad amused many, the surfacing of these cross-dressing photos now is no laughing matter in light of recent sexual assault claims.

Travolta was accused in recent weeks of sexually assaulting at least two male masseurs. Despite the withdrawal of the allegations by the two masseurs, new
claims by the New York Daily News have been made about Travolta's team offering $125,000 to one of the two accusers to keep their mouths shut.Travolta's lawyer has branded the claims 'completely false', but John Truesdale, one of the accusers, is sticking to his story. Reports suggest the former army medic turned down the offer and hired celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred instead.Even though Truesdale is standing by his claim, he withdrew his $2 million federal lawsuit last week, as did the other unnamed accuser, going by the moniker 'John Doe 1'.On Tuesday, Truesdale's innocence was called into question when
RadarOnline reported he was fired from a previous job for sexually inappropriate behaviour towards clients and co-workers.Truesdale reported claims of misconduct, saying Travolta touched him inappropriately at the Beverly Hills Hotel on January 16. Flight records and photos put Travolta at nearly 3,000 miles away at the time of the alleged incident.Truesdale claims he got the dates wrong.
