Ever considered slapping a raw steak on yourself whilst naked? Ewww! We think not!
The Alejandro singer has posed for the cover of Japanese Menโs Vogue wearing a โbikiniโ made from hunks of raw red meat. Not only is the look foul but we hate to think about how they would have pulled this together. Surely raw steak is not good for your hair?
Lady Gaga's latest escapade has prompted a furious response from animal rights campaigners.
Ingrid Newkirk, president of animal rights campaign group PETA spoke out about the shoot.
"Lady Gaga's job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body,"
"No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal."
"Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so if that's the look they were going forโthey achieved it."While we don't condone wasting food we don't agree the shoot represents violence. The shot is attempting to portray Gaga in 'the raw'. The provocative stance, almost nude Gaga and bright red lipstick is in no way violent but more an attempt at making Gaga a sex symbol. They may not have pulled that off as we are sure many will be looking to throw up after seeing this picture! But Gaga is definitely not coming across as violent.
Conan O'Brien commented on the shoot via Twitter stating 'Gaga just did a Vogue photoshoot wearing only raw meat. When she does it, it's art - when I do it, it's "Daddy, you ruined another BBQ."' Ah! Bad visuals!
Recently Gaga's former tour manager, David Ciemny, alleged that she was hospitalized six times in 2009 for her extreme dieting. It makes sense then that Gaga prefers to pose covered in meat rather than consuming it!It seems Gaga aims to touch everyone with her controversial outfits and quotes. She has in the past offended religious groups by eating a Rosary in her video Alejandro. This is just another publicity stunt, which Gaga seems to be quite good at.
