Mickey Rourke He sacrificed his good looks when he took up a boxing career in the 90s, and Mickey Rourke has been desperately trying to regain them ever since. The Expendables star has previously said that he rues the day he ever went near a surgeon: "Most of [the surgery] was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together.” Despite the fact that ugly seems to equate to serious acting chops (Rourke has been critically acclaimed for his roles in Sin City and The Wrestler), Mickey’s still trying to reconstruct the handsome face he once had, with photos released this week of his monstrous post-surgery recovery last year. In the photos, the actor looks like he’s been beaten to a pulp, sporting bruised eyes, a swollen, puffy cheeks and a heavily bandaged head.
